This a collection of Impulse responses I have recorded with pictures and an explanation of the area. Each of them are available to download and use in any production for free.

Brinnington Tunnel

Brinnington Tunnel

This tunnel is 156 meters long and was built in 1863. It is an ex-railway line that is now a public footpath and goes below the top of Brinnington hill. The IR has a long reverb and a slight warble effect.

Reddish Vale Viaduct

Stockport Viaduct was constructed in 1840 and each arch has a span of 13m as well as the rise of the arch I went in was 18m. The sound

Slaithwaite Viaduct

Slaithwaite Viaduct was constructed in 1850 and Each span is 9m across the rise of the arch I took the IR from was 11m on average as the ground was slanted. The sound is

This is an analytical piece to go with the next IR where I have waited until the leaves are back on trees and will see the difference in the IR's. The sound of this one is

Slaithwaite Tunnel

This tunnel was found when I took the recording of the IR in the forest. It opens into a larger part of which required me to take 2 IR's as the sound is different from the open side to the closed side. The wider part had a height of 3m and width of 6.5m. The thinner part had a height of 5m and a width of 3.5m. The length of the tunnel is 16m.

Found below the train station this tunnel has lots of holes which means the reveb has a different effect than other audios. It sounds

BOTW Main Venue

BOTW is a well known venue which was first used for music in the late 1800s and has kept its reputation as a popular venue. This is the main venue room with a width of 9.5m a height of 5m. The Impulse was 19m from the microphone.

BOTW Bar Venue

The bar venue at BOTW is a long not very wide room. The length is 22m and since the height and width changes dramatically and often I didn't get the height of either.

BOTW Basement

The BOTW Basement is made of 3 short corridors with the first 5.5m long, the second 3m, and the third 8m long. The width of each of them was 1m and height was 2.25m.

Upper mill canal tunnel

Upper Mill Canal Tunnel

This canal goes from Huddersfield to Ashton and was opened in 1811. It was taken just outside uppermill and has a different feel due to the sound bouncing off the water of the canal.
